Joseph Michael "Joey" Kramer








Joseph Michael "Joey" Kramer (born June 21, 1950 in The Bronx, New York City, United States) is the drummer for the Hard rock band Aerosmith. It was Kramer who named the band in 1970. Kramer briefly attended the Thornton Donovan School. According to the band's autobiography, Walk This Way, Kramer was frequently the one collecting money owed to the group.

His first writing credit with the band was "Pandora's Box" on their second album, Get Your Wings. Of all the members of the band, Kramer has written the fewest songs.

Kramer's son's Jesse also plays drums. He filled in for Joey in 2005 at several Aerosmith shows while Joey was recovering from strained muscles.

Joey Kramer's Nick Name with band members of Aerosmith is "Krame Dog".

Joey has recently teamed up with James Montgomery and David Hull to form a Blues Rock band named "The Kramer Montgomery Blues Explosion" and performed at Martha's Vinyard for the 1st time in July 2008.

Kramer is estranged from wife April Kramer and is currently in divorce proceedings. He has been seen throughout Boston with his girlfriend shown pictured with him at the grand opening of the Apple store.

Joey has a daughter, Alicia Kramer, born August 2nd, 1991.

Kramer's long time home in Marshfield, MA that he shared with his ex-wife April was placed on the market for sale July 1st 2008. He had constructed a new home on the 17-acre (69,000 m2) property in 2003, which was added to the existing home and detached recording studio.

Kramer's book "Hit Hard: A Story of Hitting Rock Bottom at the Top", about his career and struggles with depression, was released on June 30
